초원을 개발하려는 장기 프로젝트에 앞서, 작은 트리하우스를 만들어 베이스캠프를 구축하는 것이 건축주의 의도였습니다.

초원의 초입에 있는 네 그루의 삼나무에 기념비적으로 자리 잡고, 사람들의 이목을 끌게 하는 작은 쉼터 설계를 요청받았습니다.

이에 드넓은 초원 한가운데보다는, 초원과 숲의 경계에 숨어있는 아늑한 쉼터를 계획했습니다.

높이 4m의 폴리카보네이트 볼륨이 입구성을 나타내고, 그 안에는 노출된 목재들로 이루어진 방이 있습니다.

방으로 들어가는 길은 천창이 나있고, 방으로 들어오면서 자연스럽게 초원 쪽을 바라보게 됩니다.

The client’s intention, ahead of a long-term project to develop the meadow, was to first build a small treehouse as a base camp.

At the entrance to the meadow, the design was requested to create a small shelter that would take its place monumentally among four cedar trees, drawing people’s attention.

In response, rather than placing it in the vast open field, we planned a cozy hideaway nestled along the boundary between meadow and forest.

A 4-meter-high polycarbonate volume marks the entrance, and within it lies a room composed of exposed timber. The path into the room is lined with a skylight, naturally orienting one’s view toward the meadow upon entry.
